FSIPP PAC - Political Action Committee
FSIPP's PAC is named Interventional Pain Physicians CCE (IPP CCE). The CCE stands for Committee of Continuous Existence, and is a form of a PAC which can accept any level of contribution. At our annual meeting in May, 2011, the FSIPP Board supported by the membership voted to establish this PAC, and voted that half (50%) of dues payments would be dedicated to the PAC.
The goals of the CCE are to "promote the improvement of state and local government in Florida; to encourage interventional pain physicians, and others, to understand the nature and actions of their government as to important political issues and as to the records of office holders and candidates for elected office; to assist interventional pain physicians, their employees and others in organizing themselves for effective political action and in carrying out their civic and professional responsibilities."
Part of FSIPP's mission is to ensure patient access to interventional pain medicine (or management) doctors and these treatments in the State of Florida. This is the part of our mission where the CCE plays a critical role. While there is no guarantee of outcome, we know that FSIPP is heard. To survive in today's medicopolitical environment, we have to put our money where our mouth is and support candidates that understand our mission!
